Through outsourcing, Silta manages and develops Linde’s entire payroll management
Two payroll specialists from the leading industrial gas company Linden retired almost simultaneously from Linden’s payroll office.
-Payroll expertise was no longer available in-house. At the same time, Linden was outsourcing other functions. Payroll was not part of Linden’s core activities, says Linden’s HR Manager Mika Talvio.
According to Talvio, it made sense to have payroll handled by a specialist whose core business is the function. These were the main reasons why Linde transferred payroll entirely to Silta in the fall of 2009.
– Payroll has evolved as we wanted. Thanks to Silta, Linde has, among other things, an electronic archive, time tracking, and the Simo smartphone application, where employees can find all their key payroll information up to date. No more paper pay slips are being circulated.
Linde and Silta communicate with each other
Payroll information will no longer be updated manually for long. The companies have launched a project to build an interface between Linden’s personnel information system and Silta’s system, Talvio says.
So far, the procedure has been that if a Linden employee, for example, has received a salary increase, Talvio has sent an email to Silta about it. Soon, emails will not be needed.
According to Talvio, cooperation has worked well with Silta.
-Silta has a service-oriented attitude, which I value. Solutions to emerging challenges are discussed immediately.
