Growth and Internationalization Supported by an ERP System Balmuir is an international lifestyle brand founded in 2007, offering a range of interior and gift products, fashion accessories, and natural cosmetics. Originating from Oulu, the company has experienced rapid growth, which has brought forth challenges in managing its operations. The aim was to eliminate unnecessary manual work and establish clear processes that guide the entire company’s way of functioning.

The company’s vision continually pushes for the development of system solutions. The objective is to be as close to the consumer as possible, with the company’s own stores in Asia and major European cities at the core. The chosen ERP system should cater to the needs of this internationally expanding enterprise. This means that the system needs to operate in multiple languages, different currencies, manage the entire logistics chain, and scale flexibly with changes in the business. Microsoft’s Dynamics NAV ERP system proved to be the best fit for these requirements.

In the future, Balmuir’s physical stores and online shop will merge into a unified entity. The ERP system will be integrated into the online shop and point-of-sale system by EmCe. “For us, the most important aspect of developing the system was that we wouldn’t need to change it in five years, but that it would grow and evolve alongside our business,” says Juha Jaara, entrepreneur and sales director.”
